Beautiful World Project

When going into business for myself/deciding what I wanted to do for career I knew that I wanted to combine both of my passions. On one hand I wanted to create beautiful, quality, one-of-a-kind home decor items and be creative everyday but on the other hand I had the ambitious goal of changing the world or at least making a difference. I knew that whatever I did it would in some way benefit our environment and local communities

I achieved this goal by ensuring that we use environmentally friendly products in our refurbishing and reusing items is a major part of our business. In addition to the RecycleReduce and Reuse motto 5% of every purchase goes towards our Beautiful World Project Annual Event. The Beautiful World Project will participate in several activities throughout the year but every year on February 22nd we will host our Grand annual event! And everyone who mad a purchase in that following year will receive an "I helped make a Beautiful World" gift (ie: Pens, Water Bottles, etc.) after the event with a Thank You letter describing that year's activity. Follow along with us on this journey and see the direct impact your purchase has on our world. You can follow along here on this blog as well as on our Facebook Page 222 Lane

I have also set up a place for Donations on this site for anyone that would like to donate to the cause, we appreciate any and everything and all donations will be used exclusively for the Beautiful World Project, also please leave your name and address so we can send your annual gift for your contribution.

Thank You for your time.

Making the world a better place, one design at a time,

2014
Beautiful World Project

Our first annual Beautiful World Project was a HUGE! Success! Thank you so much to everyone who contributed and assisted me.
(My Crew)

When choosing charities and environmental causes for our annual project I try to remain as neutral as possible and I think we can all agree that innocent children in need is a worthy cause and I happen to live in a state where our problem is slightly more severe but I encourage you to get involved and find the local center in your area.
http://www.childcrisis.org
If you cant tell already this year we were honored to be able to help the Child Crisis Center located in
Mesa, Arizona.

Some Facts
Arizona ranks 5th nationally in the rate of children with substantiated reports of abuse and neglect, almost twice the national average (Child Welfare League of America)
Over 7,500 children in Arizona last year had to leave home due to reports of child abuse.
Approximately 30% of all of these reports were of physical abuse; the rest were emotional abuse, neglect , and sexual abuse. Even though each child’s situation is very different, they all had one significant common factor: 100% could have been prevented.
Child Abuse & Neglect cost the United States $124 Billion dollars annually
A child in Arizona is abused or neglected every hour.
As you can see I had plenty of reasons to choose to get involved with this organization and the dedicated self-less individuals who work with and try to help these children on a daily basis.
As those of us with children know one child can be very expensive and they require a number of different things, and so many that we take for granted like toothbrushes or new shoes, a birthday cake on their birthday, deodorant to call their own etc.

These children are faced with various situations on day to day basis and that’s where I decided to focus our efforts. The crisis center has something they call caring packages which are kits put together to help children have everything they need for different situations for example: First night in a new home, what would be nicer than your own blanket or a stuffed animal that is familiar to you. They even have kits to help the new parents with the transition called the Family Survival Bag, we choose a couple different ones off the list and put these kits together.

They are also in a huge need of ethnic hair care supplies since those are very rarely donated so I made a special big back of different hair care products.  Due to the sensitive nature of the children we were not able to see them but they ladies in the office greatly appreciated the donation and said they were in need for these items.

Also some other things on their emergency list;
Ethnic Hair care supplies
Car/ Booster Seats
Clothing Various sizes
We will definitely be going back throughout the year to work with this center again your contributions are greatly appreciated.
As some of you already know 5% of every purchase goes into our Beautiful World Project Fund and at the end of the year we plan and organize an Event/Donation held on February 22nd every person who made a purchase or donation  in that year also receives an “I helped make a Beautiful World” gift as a thank you.
(2014 Promo Gift)
I look forward to being able to carry this tradition on for many, many years and hope that you keep in touch  and follow our journey as we also do many community outreach events throughout the year and we are always taking suggestions about causes and organizations we can support.
